The first few pages include a photograph of Wallace B. Douglas, who as a member of the state Forestry Board was instrumental in preserving Itasca State Park; text of a dedication statement by Douglas; and a brief history of the park by Thomas S. Roberts, Director, Zoological Museum, University of Minnesota. “Douglas Lodge” is written on the first page, and this may be a register for lodge guests, plus park visitors.
