Abstract:Files relating to appointments to boards, commissions, councils, and departments, associated with staff members Mary Jo Richardson, Pat Jensen, Carol Magee, and Robert Andringa. Richardson was Quie's special assistant for appointments for boards and committees through 1979, when Jensen took over; Magee was their assistant. The files consist of correspondence informing successful applicants of their appointments; minutes of meetings and budget materials of the Governor's Appointment Advisory Committee; and memos and correspondence concerning appointments to most state boards, commissions, and councils. There are also board and commission membership lists, an alphabetical list of appointments, and a list of executive orders that created task forces to make appointment recommendations to the governor.

Applications for executive appointments (department heads) were handled by Robert Andringa. His files consist mainly of memos and correspondence relating to the appointment process as well as reports from task forces recommending applicants to the governor.

Carol Magee was also the staff's affirmative action officer, and her files relating to affirmative action are in this series. They include quarterly reports to the Equal Opportunity Division of the Employee Relations Department and copies of various affirmative action plans.
