| Abstract: | The annual reports consist mainly of financial statements and membership statistics; all are dated June 30 of the stated year. They vary in length and scope from a one-page summary for 1941, to 60-page comprehensive financial reports (starting in 1983). Reports for 1933-1940 are typed copies, while most of the reports between 1942 and 1980 are either folded brochures or small pamphlets. | |

SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Most reports contain a balance sheet listing the association's assets and liabilities, an income-expense statement, a list of cash receipts and disbursements, a statement of investments, and membership lists. Reports after 1944 usually include a list of board members and officers. Some of the more lengthy reports (1936-1940, 1961, 1980) contain more detailed financial information including several pages of explanatory text, statements of notes receivable, warrants, annuity payments, analysis of surplus funds, multi-year comparative tables for several of the funds, and detailed membership statistics. Beginning in 1961, statistics for PERA's Police and Fire Fund are also included. The comprehensive financial reports (1983- ), in addition to numerous charts and tables on PERA funds and operations, contain a master list of participating employers.
Many are St. Paul Public Library rejects.
