The real estate record, compiled in 1938, contains a sheet of paper for each tract of land owned by the city. Arranged by city department, the information includes cost of land and buildings, legal land description, deed dates and numbers, and comments. Departments recorded include armory, courthouse, education (libraries and schools), parks and playgrounds, fire stations, public utilities (Hayden Heights reservoir, city market, municipal airport quarry, pumping stations, etc.), and public works (morgue, tool yard, workhouse, etc.). The register of WPA projects, 1937-1938, is arranged by city department and includes administrative information.
Real Estate Record, 1938-1939. 1 oversize folder.
The real estate record contains a sheet of paper for each tract of land (schools and other properties) owned by the St. Paul Board of Education. Plot and building dimensions were done by field crews of Works Project Administration (W.P.A.) project no. 5587. Besides surveying school properties, field crews of W.P.A. project no. 4719-5997 surveyed lawn areas, concrete areas, retaining walls and play areas. Information includes actual cost of the land and buildings, type and size of buildings, remarks, legal land description with deed and recording information, and a plot drawing of each property.
