| Abstract: | The master set of speeches and press conference remarks by Governor Perpich. Most are large-type versions,
often with annotations and strikeouts, apparently constituting his speaking texts. There is a separate subset of texts, drafts,
speechwriters' memoranda, and miscellaneous background materials for his annual state of the state address, including a considerable
file of letters from past or current drug users, solicited for his 1990 state of the state speech. |

Speeches for 1982 through February 1989 and for August-November 1, 1990, are individually foldered and listed; most are ribbon copies. Many are accompanied by memos and drafts from Perpich's speechwriters, particularly Patrice Vick and (beginning in August, 1986) Dave Cook. Speechwriter materials that do not correlate with separately foldered speeches are filed at the end of each month; they may represent speeches not given.
Speeches for March 1989 through July 1990 are foldered in groups by month. All are photocopies; location of the originals in unknown.
