HISTORICAL NOTE
During the period 2004-2005 the organization and development of the Green Isle Community School (School District No. 4144-07) occurred, with the school opening in September 2005. The kindergarten to grade six charter school was a tuition free public school serving students from the surrounding cities of Arlington, Belle Plaine, Gaylord, Hamburg, Henderson and Norwood Young America. The school's mission statement was to foster a positive and respectful multiage environment that promoted education excellence, service learning, community connections, and responsible citizenship. The school closed effective July 1, 2024.
