111.D.17.2FWater Analysis Records, 1895-1896.
Includes records of examinations of St. Paul (Lake Vadnais) and Minneapolis (river) water supplies; what appear to be indexes to reports on examinations of water supplies in many Minnesota communities (location of records referred to unknown); and correspondence of the Duluth health officer regarding testing of Duluth water supply (he was concerned with the number of typhoid cases in the city).
Water Analysis Reports, 1879-1897. 2 volumes and 2 folders:
Spines say "File of Water Analysis." They record sampling and quality testing of sources of drinking water: wells, lakes, rivers, and springs; testing was done by the Health Department lab in Red Wing. The reports consist largely of two pairs of companion forms, "Description of water sent for analyses" and "Report on a sample of drinking water"; other documents are occasionally included, also. Information recorded: collection date, source, physical setting, known disease associations, distance and kind of nearest source of filth, physical characteristics of the water sample, lab analysis results, and narrative statement of conclusions.
