HISTORICAL NOTE
Thaddeus Surber, zoologist and ichthyologist, managed the Duluth hatchery for the period 1914-1916 as well as other state hatcheries. He was also a biologist and Superintendent of Fish Propagation for the Department for the period 1917-1937.
