SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Documenting various aspects of park management, including state forests, recreational areas, plans and practices, public access, canoe routes, snowmobile trails, campground and picnic areas, budget and spending, natural resources projects, solitude areas, recreation planning, private contracts, and proposed legislation, these files contain correspondence, maps, reports, minutes, statistics and surveys, inventories, and legal and financial documents.
Items of particular interest include Southern Minnesota Rivers Basin Study and Minnesota Recreational River System reports and materials (1966-1973), proposed spending plans (Fiscal Year 1967 - Fiscal Year 1973), campground and picnic areas visitor use surveys (1965-1971), recreational areas equipment inventories (1971-1973), and a contract with Greenview, Inc., a non-profit company that hires needy, elderly persons to provide maintenance for state park recreational facilities (1971-1975).
