Andy and Hannah Johnson: An Inventory of Their Papers 01550
Reminiscences (undated and 1965-1967), photographs, newspaper clippings, newspaper articles and editorial letters, two scrapbooks, and some flyers created by Communist Party activist Johnson and his wife, Hannah, describing his early life in Finland and Aurora (Minn.), his employment in lumber camps and iron mines in northern Minnesota, and his subsequent removal to Babbitt, Minnesota, where he lived, working as a well digger, for most of his life. His opinions on communism, economic conditions, and political activity in northern Minnesota are well documented.

Sioux and Chippewa annuity rolls, 1838-1839, 1843Handwritten copies of annuity rolls for the Mdewakanton Band of Sioux (Dakota) Indians in Iowa Territory (1838, 1839) and the Mississippi and Lake Superior bands of Chippewa (Ojibwe) Indians within the jurisdiction of the Office of Indian Affairs La Pointe Agency in Wisconsin Territory (1843). They document payments made to the bands by the federal government under the terms of treaties negotiated in 1837 and ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1838.
