SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The bulk of the collection consists of articles and excerpts taken from English (undated and 1963-1982) and German language (1965-1982, 1987) books and magazines, which reflect both American and European commentary on Bob Dylan. There are also bibliographies related to Dylan and to popular music in general, including a card bibliography on Dylan compiled by Anderson.
A section of materials related to seminars on Dylan taught by Anderson while a member of the Department for American Studies at Universität Tübingen (Tübingen, Germany) is also included and consists of syllabi, correspondence, English and German reading materials, Dylan chronologies (1941-1979), song lyrics, and student papers written primarily in German. An interview held in Tübingen, Germany with Allen Ginsburg (Dec. 18, 1979) is also included.
The last group of material consists of copies of two Dylan fan magazines: an English language magazine (March 1976-Summer 1979) that appeared as Talkin' Bob Zimmerman Blues (Feb. 1975-Aug. 1976), changed its title to Zimmerman Blues (Winter 1977-Winter 1978), and changed again to Changin' (Summer 1979), and a German language magazine published in Munich and entitled Dylan, (Summer 1977-Fall 1979).
