Question - My boot won't open, 2 series convertible 2016, I've tried. I was recently working on my F22 (218i) 2018 model and I disconnected the battery for some work on the car when the boot (trunk) closed and now we cannot get it opened again to reconnect the battery. I have tried looking for a manual key hole, pulling down the back seats and a manual trunk release.

It has started happening again recently even though i got a new boot closing catch last year under warranty as the same thing happened there. so i cant open my boot from outside using key fob or the handle ive had to take out the back seat to get in but cant find any emergency release button or anything ive looked at loads of youtube vids for ways but no joy so my question to you guys is there is no other way of opening the boot can.

The boot still locks but not fully as it no longer engages the soft close, however I can open with a key. I've had the car looked at, the wiring looks good, the aculator works when provided power and when i've tried different gm3 modules however the soft close/open still doesn't work.
