I have a 05 1150 gs adventure and it is a great bike. I've never ridden the 1100 but i do like the looks of the 1150 more. Also the servo brakes have worked fine for me and are nice to be able to pull the front lever only and have it activate the front/rear brakes and still have the ability to us the rear brake only to brake the rear tire only.
