The 2012 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters was the twenty-sixth season of premier German touring car championship and also thirteenth season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) since the series' resumption in 2000. Here is BMW's official introduction video of the BMW M3 DTM Concept Car (official press release and info) which will make its appearance in race form for the first time during the 2012 DTM season next year. The BMW M3 DTM is a DTM touring car constructed by the German car manufacturer BMW. It was developed in 2010 and has been raced in DTM seasons since their return to the sport after 20 years absence in 2012 until the end of 2013 season before it was succeeded by BMW M4 DTM.
It was designed by BMW chief engineer Dominic Harlow. The M3 DTM was based on E92 production car. After a nearly 20-year absence from participating in DTM, BMW triumphantly returned for the 2012 season proving that the German automaker didn't miss a beat while taking time off from racing.
