Well the reality is there are many who just got lucky, but there are others who have genuienly took the time and effort to grow their channel into one that produces an online income for them every month.
How much does YouTube pay out?
If you have a big enough following and/or people viewing your content constantly, enough to quit your 9 to 5!
Is it sustainable?
Depends. Mr Beast has been able to pull it off for a long long time but for us regular folks I would say it is more realistically going to fade away at some point without staying on top of it.
Here's the good news though.
There are so many ways to grow a YouTube channel and get a massive amount of followers and views. This can then become your tool to producing RECURRING income from other products and services.
Does that make sense? Grow an audience and you'll be able to market to that audience. What you market will pay you for your sales, every month.
It's an easy formula to talk about but there are tools and resources to accomplish this.
My favorite thing is that there's no such thing as saturation with this plan!
