Each stone is certified, ensuring adherence to officially approved weight and size specifications. Upon certification, stones are exported to curling clubs and organizations across the globe.
Despite its prevalence, Ailsa Craig is not the only source of curling stones. Knutselv, Norway, offers an alternative, and for some, a more economical solution.

Nestled in a Norwegian fjord lies the small village of Knutselv, home to the world's second-largest granite quarry. Here, the granite differs from Ailsa Craig, featuring a lighter weight and distinctive speckled appearance, but maintains the renowned quality for curling.
The granite from Knutselv may not share the same historical significance as Ailsa Craig, yet it hosts its own International Curling Federation-certified curling rink.
