Ford Vs Hyundai Reliability Reddit

Hyundai was a one owner vehicle. I like the Hyundai because it's got all the amenities my old car didn't have (backup camera, sunroof, blind spot monitor). The Ford only has a sunroof.

I've head about the transmission issues with the ford and engine/oil consumption issues with the Hyundai so I dont know which one to place my bet on. Which would be better to buy for reliability hyundai elantra 2014-2019 around 50k miles automatic or Ford fiesta, focus, or fusion 2014. Hyundai vs Ford? Which would you purchase in my place - a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited or a 2006 Ford Explorer? I can buy the Explorer outright but it is older.

I would have to finance part of the Santa Fe. Both are 4-wheel drive and fully loaded. TIA!

Which brand is the most reliable out of Kia, Hyundai, Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, Subaru? Are there any cars in particular that are good? There is only one dealer in my area who will let me take a car for PPI and whenever I see a Toyota, Honda or Mazda in my area they are much more expensive than other brands and sell fast. Edit: If Hyundai/Kia are really that bad, which vehicle in this class would you recommend? I'm taking out Honda and Toyota from the equation based on price. Unless I'm missing something, it's between the Subaru, Nissan, and Chevy.

Edit 2: if Hyundai is really that bad, I'm now leaning towards the Chevy Trax Active trim. There are hyundai reliability concerns as well, however nothing currently circulating as issues. Those who are going to get set off by that statement, dont spend enough time on this reddit or mavericktruckclub website.

I want to justify the new car purchase of the Hyundai, which would cost about $6k more than a 2 year old CRV. I know Hyundai has come a long way improving reliability, but does it compete with the Honda's and Toyota's? Basically, I'm asking for your help in justifying buying a new Santa Fe, ha. I'm in the market for my first car and have narrowed my search down to the Ford Focus and Hyundai Accent (Mazda3 and Kia Forte are potential alternates still). I'm trying to stick with slightly used 2012 models in order to find ones with a nicer trim that are still in my price range ($14-18K). I prefer the design and interior of the Focus, but am concerned about all the transmission.
