Sorry I'm a little late to this thread! What I did to install CarPlay on my iA was I bought an infotainment computer off of a newer 2020 Toyota Yaris as they had CarPlay from the factory (won't loose the blue UI color) and bought a wireless CarPlay retrofit kit off Amazon that replaced the USB port hub in the center console. I'm contemplating retrofitting my 2018 Toyota Yaris iA with a software update and usb unit that would allow me to use Apple Carplay and Android Auto with the existing screen. The 2018 Yaris iA is actually a rebranded Mazda 2, and I've read that the software update will change the color scheme and boot up logo to Mazda branding, which is fine by me.
