Skylanders SuperChargers features a brand-new class of heroes, called SuperChargers who are distinct with fresh moves, powerful attacks and all. Skylanders Superchargers, out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, is the fifth entry in the annual series that really kicked off the multibillion dollar toys-to-life genre back in 2011. This time around, developer Vicarious Visions returns to the helm and offers up some much.
Skylanders SuperChargers dazzles with inventive vehicle gameplay and family-friendly fun, blending racing and platforming for a vibrant, nostalgic experience-though clunky mechanics, pay-to-win annoyances, and a weak story slightly undercut its shine. A bold, imperfect gem that still shines as a must. Skylanders: Superchargers is a smorgasbord of gameplay and aesthetics, a much-improved romp through the toy-fueled world of Skylands.
But at times it feels too hurried to allow you to enjoy the diversity of play and aesthetic it has on offer, leaving the game bordering on staccato, almost to a fault. Of course, SuperChargers still centers around the increasingly saturated toy-to-life gimmick, where your physical Skylander toys and the new line of accompanying vehicles pop into the game world. Skylanders SuperChargers is a nice addition to the Skylanders family offering up more gameplay options with the inclusion of vehicles.
It's not just vehicles in the campaign, but a whole racing aspect as well that should add even more hours of fun. Skylanders: SuperChargers received positive reviews. Aggregating review website Metacritic gave the Wii U version 87/100 based on 13 reviews [2], the PlayStation 4 version 81/100 based on 51 reviews [3], and the Xbox One version 76/100 based on 15 reviews.
