Part 1. Differentiated Example Features

Scene-based Device

Understanding a "scene" versus an "event"

Today's surveillance devices can be triggered by the detection of motion. This results in an "event", which can produce an overwhelming stream of events where every small motion in the field of view results in an "event".

Example adds an additional layer of analysis and filtering that enables more detailed processing.

  • This is based on the context defined by the DeviceMode to interprete whether a motion should constitute a scene or whether a sequence of "events" constitute a scene.
  • It reduces the overall traffic of scenes to the end user to an application consuming DeviceMarks and DeviceData.
