The overall consensus after a year of open concept office, was that it was much preferred to the dreary cubicle maze that was there before. I can actually learn a lot about my job from my colleagues hearing what they say on the phone. The reason for going for open concept offices is to encourage collaboration. The idea is that it makes people more approachable if you literally bump elbows with them.
TIL open concept office spaces are damaging to workers' attention spans, productivity, creative thinking, and satisfaction. Okay, enough of the silliness, because the old open-concept floor plan is still with us. So, for whatever reason, you're stuck with an open-concept floor plan and hate it.
You can't stand it any longer; living, eating, cooking, reading, watching TV, etc, ALL in ONE room. No interior walls. And, no delineation of spaces.
