In the 2013 BMW X3, the AUC sensor is typically located near the fuel rail on the engine’s intake manifold. Positioned close to the fuel injectors, it monitors pressure fluctuations and supports precise fuel delivery. This strategic placement enables optimal combustion but requires careful access during servicing or diagnostics.

The AUC sensor connects via a robust wiring harness that runs along the underbody near the fuel system. Its signal lines are routed alongside fuel pressure regulators, making proximity to high-vibration areas a key consideration. Proper insulation and secure anchoring prevent noise and maintain signal integrity for accurate sensor readings.

If diagnosing fuel system issues, locating the AUC sensor early saves time and reduces error. Mechanics should inspect the fuel rail area using service manuals to identify the correct sensor model. Access is often limited due to tight engine packaging—patience and methodical disassembly are essential for safe removal without damaging surrounding components.
