In recent years the BMW K100 2valve and 4valve engines, as well as the later variants the K1100 and K1200 4valve engines, have provided Austin/ Rover classic Mini and MG enthusiasts with a cylinder head that closely matches the bore centers of the age old Austin Rover 'A' series 1275cc engine. A look over the standard and modified blocks to cover the modifications required to run a BMW K100/K1100/K1200 head on an A series block. The Nissan version shares no parts with the BMC A series.

The cam is even on the other side of the engine. I bet the head swap is possible with a complete re-engineering of the kit, but I am sure the Nissan parts bins offer better choices. Im stuck between finding a big valve MG Metro head or a 12g940 (correct me if theyre the same thing), or a K100 head off a BMW motorbike. Ive found a kit that claims to cover what you need for the conversion on. How easy is it to rebuild a 8v K100 head.

The head is that used on the BMW 'K'series (K100 onwards) motorcycles that were introduced in 1982 and produced until around early 2000. It is an all alloy twin cam construction and both 8v and 16v versions are useable.
