Rarity Colors Monster Hunter

The wiki for all things Monster Hunter, find Monsters, Weapons, Armors, Items and much more! I am looking for an explaination of what the colours and the numbers mean for the item drops. e.g.

RARE 1 (White), RARE 2 (Blue), RARE 3 (Yellow), RARE 4 (Red). Im guessing the higher the number, the rarer the item? Are there high ranks of number, I have only seen 1.4 so far? The stars is the "level" of the item.

2 stars means it's on par with your level, less means lower, more means higher. The colors are the "qualities/rarity" of the items. It goes, from worst to best, Red->White->Gold->Purple->Green.

to preface, this is just an observation, I do not actually find any problem in this. in old monhun games the rarity colors were white for tier 1, purple for tier 2, yellow for tier 3, pink for tier 4, etc etc. but in rise they skip the purple and it goes white for tier 1, yellow for tier 2, pink for tier 3, etc.
