Bathtub Gin Botanicals

Bathtub Gin is a so-called Compound Gin, a grain alcohol infused with botanicals like juniper, angelica root, orange peel, coriander seed, cassia, clove, cardamom, or others. After distillation, Bathtub Gin is cold infused with orange peel and five other carefully selected fresh botanicals over seven days. We taste test this regularly by hand to ensure that distinct Bathtub flavour we're proud of.

Every bottle is handwrapped, strung and dipped in Tonbridge, Kent - and we've been doing this since day dot. Bathtub Gin is also known as Compounded Gin, which simply means that rather than adding the botanicals through distillation, the ingredients are added by simply infusing them in a spirit, often neutral, such as vodka. Tasting Notes Bathtub Gin has a slight golden/umber tinge to it, something close to the color of cedar planks.

What inspired you to create Bathtub Gin? It's all about the process of cold compounding. We are a bunch of spirit geeks and the "art of flavour" is a massive thing for us, so crafting a gin with the freshest and truest botanical delivery became a bit of an obsession. The "compounding method" inspired some playing around with botanicals and this, uniquely, gave us exactly what we were.

Often made from cheap grain alcohol and flavored with juniper and other botanicals, bathtub gin was infamous for its poor quality and potentially dangerous ingredients.
