The typical sweden starting ideas are inno + quality to stack the infantry combat ability, and inno helps sweden more than other European nations. If Scandinavian ideas are better than Norwegian ideas (apart from the extra colonist) (and a quick check on the wiki suggests that WOW YES THEY ARE), maybe it's best to delay forming Scandinavia for a while? (If you form Scandi as soon as possible and don't take the new national ideas, then you will be forever unable to get Scandi ideas. Scandinavian missions when not formed by Denmark, Norway or Sweden Clicking on a mission icon leads to the appropriate table row. Don't focus on military ideas but your first choice should be quantity ideas for manpower, in future i recommend you to get religious and aristocratic ideas. Because religious helps you convert provinces so you have religious unity for rebels.
But aristocratic ideas for a total different reason. I always pick my ideas according to policies. I think Danish ideas are great single player ideas and Scandinavian ideas are great multiplayer ideas.
So if you play sp, stick with the Danish ones and you should be just fine.
