The Toyota MR2 is a line of two-seater, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports cars, manufactured in Japan and marketed globally by Toyota from 1984 until 2007 over three generations: W10 (1984-1989), W20 (1989-1999) and W30 (1999-2007). The third generation Toyota MR2 (W30) was available between 2000 and 2005* (2006 in other markets). It was marketed as the Toyota MR-S in Japan, Toyota MR2 Spyder in the US, and the Toyota MR2 Roadster in Europe.

Also known as the Midship Runabout-Sports, the W30 MR2 took a different approach than its predecessor, most obviously becoming a convertible and receiving the 'Spyder' marketing. Following on from the massively popular Mk2 MR2, Toyota launched the third-generation model in 1999.
