Understanding Why Your Garage Door Gaps Occur
Gaps typically appear because the garage door has shifted out of level or plumb. This misalignment is usually the result of worn rollers, loose hinges, or an unleveled concrete slab where the unit sits. Seasonal temperature changes can also cause metal panels to expand or contract slightly, changing the fit of the door within the tracks. Identifying the specific location of the gap—whether it is at the top, one side, or the bottom—is the critical first step in the adjustment process.

Adjusting the Side Gaps
