Wolverine Brown Color

This costume merges the brown and yellow-orange colors of his Fang costume with the boots, red belt, and long-eared cowl of his classic costume for a more streamlined overall look. Wolverine kept this costume throughout much of the 1980s and early 1990s, both as a member of the X. In Earth-666, Wolverine was an undead vampire and was wearing a black and red uniform similar in design to his classic brown and tan costume except for the colors.

After years of wearing a brown costume designed by John Byrne, Wolverine returned to his original X-Men costume - what was the reason for this change?
