We are a group of Minecraft players that like to do technical stuff, so that is what we mainly talk about on the podcast. Occasionally we will also talk about some other stuff, although we try to. At the base of Rattlesnake mountain in Redstone New Hampshire, sits a quarry that was once one of the highest producing quarries in all of America, and home to hundreds of miners and their families.

Now, it is totally vacant. The quarry operated from the late 1800s to about 1948 and produced granite desired for its unique red-brown color, which resulted in both the quarry and village being named Redstone. Redstone Granite Quarry is an abandoned quarry at the base of Rattlesnake Mountain in Conway, New Hampshire.

This is the parking area and trailhead for the historic Redstone Quarry. According to an article by Rick Russack and Steve Swenson, the granite quarries on Rattlesnake Mountain in Redstone (part of the town of Conway), together with substantial remains of buildings and machinery dating back to the late 1800s constitute one of the most significant industrial archeological sites in New Hampshire. In 1886, the North Jay Granite Company, of Maine, bought land on Rattlesnake Mountain, which became known as the Redstone Quarry.

A cutting yard was established at the base of the mountain and a railroad spur connected to the nearby Maine Central line. Redstone Quarry, in North Conway, operated from 1887 until 1948. The remnants of machinery, derricks, and buildings constitute one of the more interesting industrial archaeological sites in New Hampshire.
