As I am new to the GS world and to this site, first wanted to say hello. I have purchased a 2016 GSA but it came without a nav. I see that there is quite the debate between the V and the VI.

The 6 display is much brighter and can be seen in direct sunlight. The Nav 6 has had a long history of touch screen issues. It is supposed to be fixed on the latest, greatest model.

As already mentioned, if you go this route, make sure to get the latest version or you will have issues eventually. The 6 does give you a better screen and little things here and there but in general the key features such as mobile integration and such are so limited and unreliable that I would spend the money on something else. Most people I know bough the 6 for the data it provides on the bike not the GPS.

BMW and Garmin both admitted that it was a lottery as to whether the Nav VI, editions one and two, would work reliably. They also admitted that the chances of either of the two devices working reliably were stacked against the owner. Author BMW Nav 5 v's 6.advice and opinions.

Nav 6 has faster processor, works with wheel, bike info, and a little brighter screen that failed to ghost inputs after a year or so.
