Bathroom selfies. Stop. Using.

Them. They are unflattering, especially in public bathrooms where we can see the urinals or there are random people in the background washing their hands, putting on makeup, or whatever. Don't care how good you think you look.

Ask someone. Don't Share a Bathroom Selfie: 72% of successful Hinge users say they find them undesirable. Do Share a Photo of You Doing a Physical Activity You Enjoy: More than half (58%) of Hinge users are more likely to send a comment if someone's profile picture shows them doing a physical activity, such as hiking or a sport.

Only 13 percent of successful Hinge profiles include mirror selfies, and 72 percent of successful Hinge users say they find bathroom selfies undesirable. We can't say we disagree. It's rather hard to get this range of photos using selfies only.

Sure an occasional epic selfie with a location, the occasion can work great but most selfies are terrible, lazy. According to Hinge, selfies receive 40% fewer likes than non-selfies and bathroom selfies receive 90% fewer likes. Selfies are awful photos for dating apps and are less likely to receive likes on Hinge, especially when taken in the bathroom or gym.

Let Other Hinge Users See Your Face. I was on Hinge today and saw 3 men with bathroom mirror selfies where the entire toilet was visible. Some were even wearing nice suits like you couldnt have moved to the hallway or asked someone to take that shot for you?

To me, it screams loner that never leaves the bathroom. There are a bunch of females on Hinge that are all mirror selfies. Reply reply OThinkingDungeons.

Go with the general rule. And the general rule that's been brought up here before is, if it's something related to you doing some sort of water or beach activities, or a candid type shot doing some kind of outdoor activity, it's fine. But if it's a gym/bathroom selfie, or a cheesy purposely posed shot, then it's a turnoff.

Selfies usually aren't the best pics you can get, but even so, there's a WIDE range of selfies. A selfie of yourself doing XYZ having a great time hiking is a million times better than one of you flexing shirtless in the bathroom mirror in my opinion-I'd view the former favorably and the latter would be an immediate X. Mirror Selfies - Whether taken at the gym, your bathroom, or somewhere else, no.

Yet, I see these in many many profile reviews. Like with outstretched arm and car selfies, it conveys laziness, lack of effort, and you don't have friends to take pictures of you. It conveys you don't have 6 better photos than one you snapped in a mirror.
