First things first, download and print our free Mickey Mouse ear pattern. You can find it on our website, along with other free Disney-inspired patterns and tutorials. Once you've printed it out, cut out the ear shapes. We've included two sizes, so you can choose the perfect fit for your project.

Trace and Cut Your Ears

Using your chosen ear size, trace the pattern onto your red felt or fabric. Make sure to trace two of each ear shape, as you'll need four ears in total. Cut out your traced shapes carefully, being mindful of the curves. If you're using white felt for the inner ear, trace and cut two of those as well.

Pro Tip: Use Fabric with a Light Color on the Back

When selecting your fabric, make sure the color on the back is light. This will help your ears look their best, as any imperfections or marks will be less visible.

Assemble Your Ears

Now that you have all your ear pieces cut out, it's time to assemble them. Start by gluing the two red ear pieces together, with the right sides facing each other. Leave the bottom open for now. If you're using white felt for the inner ear, glue one of those pieces to the inside of one of the red pieces before sealing the bottom.

Once your ears are assembled, turn them right-side out and press them flat with your fingers or an iron on low heat. Repeat this process for the other ear.

Add the Black Details

Using your black felt, cut out the Mickey Mouse ear details. These are the small black circles and ovals that give Mickey his iconic look. Glue these onto the front of your ears, positioning them carefully. Allow the glue to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Create the Headband

Measure the wearer's head and cut a piece of elastic or ribbon to the correct length, plus an extra inch or two for overlap. Glue the ends of the elastic or ribbon to the inside of your ears, making sure they're positioned correctly. Allow the glue to dry completely before trying on your new Mickey Mouse ears.

Show Off Your Creations

Now that you've completed your free Mickey Mouse ear pattern, it's time to show them off! Wear them to a Disney-themed party, a parade, or just around the house for some magical fun. Don't forget to share your creations with us on social media – we'd love to see your Disney-inspired projects!
