By 1978, demand for his designs increased, so Clive invested in an artisan workshop in the North of England and Clive Christian Interiors was born. The first official design released was the Victorian Kitchen. Clive removed walls to make the room more spacious and installed sociable kitchen islands and chandeliers for unexpected glamour.
Clive Christian Furniture was founded in 1978 when Christian bought a manor house in Cheshire built in the late 19th century and began to renovate it with bespoke furniture. The first design released was his Victorian Kitchen. [5] When demand for his designs increased he bought a factory and started to create personal designs for his customers.
Clive Christian Kitchens are more than food preparation areas, they are complete rooms designed in great detail and with all the modern conveniences. Each kitchen is completely custom with solid woods and delicate veneers used to create an Edwardian palace or a Victorian scullery. This ornate fixture was the centrepiece of Clive Christian's very first bespoke design - the Victorian Kitchen.
This was a grandiose resurrection of the lavish interiors of the Victorian era, symbolic of Clive Christian's devotion to tradition and culture, history and luxury.
