It’s a true lifesaver whenever you need to seat more people than your existing table can fit.   Grab a foldable table (mine was $15 and is 6 feet long) and a precut 4’ x 8’ piece of plywood. I wrap the plywood in thin styrofoam packing sheets for a little extra padding, then cover everything with a favorite tablecloth. No one will ever know what’s underneath! If you can, choose a tablecloth that reaches the floor to hide the legs of the foldable table and for fancier occasions, I’ll even rent a crisp white tablecloth from the party supply shop down the street.  I always say there’s always room for one more chair at the table and this little hack makes sure of it.
