Installation Process

First, the rivet is inserted into a predrilled hole in the material, with the head of the rivet on the accessible side and the tail on the inaccessible side.
Insertion

Using a rivet setter tool, the mandrel is pushed into the rivet body until it reaches the grip range. The tool's jaws grip the mandrel, not the rivet body, ensuring a tight fit.
At this stage, the rivet body is still intact, and the mandrel is securely held in place by the tool.
Upsetting

Next, the tool's trigger is pulled, which applies pressure to the mandrel, forcing it further into the rivet body. This action causes the tail of the rivet body to flare out, gripping the material on the inaccessible side.
The mandrel continues to move until the rivet body's head is flush with the material's surface, indicating a secure fit.
Mandrel Break-Off

The final stage is mandrel break-off. Once the rivet is set, the tool's jaws release the mandrel, and the tool is withdrawn. The mandrel is designed to break off at a specific point, leaving the rivet body securely in place.
The broken-off mandrel can then be removed from the tool, and the process can be repeated for the next rivet.
