To feather the edge, increase pressure and angle on thedrywallknife as you reach the outer edges of the patch area to minimize, or thin, thecompoundon thedrywall.

Then I fasten the patch to the wood blockingusingthe samedrywallscrews. At this point, the patch is ready for jointcompound. But there are some details you need to know to make it look seamless.
