Thought we could start a thread on the Toyota gearboxes. For the purposes of this forum, there are 2 main ranges of manual Toyota gearboxes that should be of interest. The W-range, and the R-Range, both built by Aisin, for Toyota. Both available in different variants, with different gear ratios.

Got the engine out today, removed fuel tank, got a 5 speed transmission mounted to it and removed 22RE from donor truck. Next is installing the 22RE, installing fuel injection gas tank and finding a way to add A/C. Insta:YotaExports +6 Justin Kinard and 330 others 331 9 1 1979.

The 20R and the 22R have the same bolt pattern between the rear of the engine block and the bellhousing, so the new gearbox will bolt up.
