Our Reading Room: A Haven for Book Lovers
The reading room is designed to be a peaceful space where you can lose yourself in the pages of a good book. To maintain this serene atmosphere, we kindly ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:
Respect the Silence
- Please keep conversations to a minimum and use hushed tones when necessary.
- Turn off your mobile phones or set them to silent mode.
- Refrain from making noise that could disturb others, such as rustling wrappers or tapping your feet.
We understand that the occasional whisper or soft laugh is inevitable, but we trust that you'll be mindful of the impact on others.
Membership and Access
Membership is free and open to all. Simply sign in at the reception desk on your first visit, and you'll receive a library card. This card should be presented each time you enter the reading room.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not comply with our rules or behaves in a manner that disrupts the peace and tranquility of the reading room.
Book Care and Borrowing
Our collection includes a wide range of books, from classic literature to the latest bestsellers. To ensure these books remain in good condition for future readers, we ask that you:
- Handle books with care, keeping them away from food and drinks.
- Do not mark or write in books.
- Return books on time to avoid late fees. You can check the due date on our library app or ask a librarian for assistance.
If you find a book in poor condition, please inform a librarian so we can repair or replace it.
Furniture and Facilities
The reading room offers comfortable seating, study tables, and other facilities to enhance your reading experience. To ensure these remain available for everyone, please:
- Do not move furniture from one area to another.
- Keep study tables clean and free of personal belongings when not in use.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to a librarian.
Special Considerations
From time to time, we host events and workshops in the reading room. Details of these events will be displayed on our notice board and website. During these events, some rules may be temporarily suspended to accommodate the activity.
We also offer a limited number of power outlets for charging devices. Please be considerate of others and do not leave devices charging unattended.
