Columns indicate variables and rows indicate survey participants.

What follows are descriptions of the columns:

State: Postal Code of anonymized participant

Q5: Multiple responses separated by a comma of how participant was affected by pandemic. 

Q5_10_TEXT: Optional text response for way participant was affected if not included in the list. 

Q6_1 through Q6_10_TEXT: Integers represent the rank order of the previously selected ways the pandemic affected participants. 

Q10: If you were licensed to fish in 2020, how much did you fish compared to a typical year?

Q11: Similar to Q5, multiple responses separated by a comma for why participants fished (pre-pandemic).

Q11_TEXT: Optional text response for reason participant fished if not included in list.

Q12_1 through Q12_10_TEXT: Integers represent the rank order of the previously selected reasons participants fish.

Q13 through Q14_10_TEXT:  Similar data and format to columns Q11 through Q12_10_TEXT, but restating the question to during pandemic (not pre-pandemic).

Q15_1: Integer response for number of fishing trips taken during non-pandemic March–May.

Q16_1: Integer response for number of fishing trips taken during 2020 (pandemic) March–May.

Q19: Multiple choice response whether fishing access was changed during pandemic. 

Q20: Follow up to Q19; optional open-ended response to how access changed.

Q21: Multiple choice response to question of inherent safety of fishing. 

Q22: Multiple choice response to participant age (answers are age ranges).

Q23: Multiple choice response to participant gender (answers are Male, Female, Prefer not to answer).

Q22: Multiple choice response to participant household income (answers are income ranges).
