Whenever I drained cooling systems, I always saved the old coolant and then measured the amount drained, to see just how much was in the system. It's easy then to mix the exact quantity of new coolant required and pour it into the cooling system.

Is engine ice another waterless coolant? Because they are a scam. Water has the best heat capacity (apart from ammonia, but you can't use that) so the best coolant would be straight water. But that slowly corrodes metals and freezes. So you add a bit of chemicals to lower the freezing point and reduce corrosion.
