I'm also in my 20s and on my second 8 series lol and I love it so much! Switched from an 840i coupe to an m850i gran coupe a few weeks ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I loved the b58 in the 840i but man the n63 is so nice and sounds so good with a resonator delete.

E31 owner here. depends on what you want. most people look for an automatic E31, if thats the case, get an 840 (5 speed a/t) just make sure its an Alusil block. the cars are really reliable aside from a couple of things -- the transmissions, they need to be serviced every 80K and NO ONE does it because BMW says its lifetime fluid. if the car you're looking at shifts a-ok, take it straight to.

It took local techs and BMW technical analysts nearly three days to troubleshoot that and ultimately make some sort of software adjustment. Now, the wi-fi hotspot works just fine (though I'll rarely, if ever, use it), the other telematics features seem more consistent, and the Connected Drive apps still aren't appearing.
