Rutherfordton Employee Spotlight: Brandon Harrill
Each one of our team members brings a unique approach to their work with amazing personalities and hearts for service. Each month we aim to share with you a little about one of the team members that work so hard to make Rutherfordton a great place to call home. This month the Town is shining the spotlight on Brandon Harrill! We hope you enjoy getting to know about Brandon and celebrating his service to the Town.
Department: Rutherfordton Fire Department
Title: Fire Chief
Years of Service: 16 Years
Wife: Amber Harrill
Children: Bailee (14) & Mason (11)
What is your proudest moment while working for the Town?
My proudest moment working for the Town was January 3rd, 2006, my first day on the job as a career firefighter. I have had many of proud moments in my career, but it all started that day. The past 16 years have been great working for the fire department, and I look forward to serving many more years.
What is your personal mantra?
To lead is to serve.
What did you want to be when you were little?
I wanted to be a garbage man! I thought it was cool to ride around on the back of a garbage truck. I traded that dream to become a firefighter and we no longer get to ride on the back of fire engines.

Thank you, Brandon, for all you do for the town!
