Yet another example that shows how amazing our community is! Despite the downpour we had later this afternoon, we gathered to cheer our ducks on for the 3rd Annual Duck Dash Derby! All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We cannot thank you all enough for the amazing support that we continuously see, day in and day out, here in Rutherfordton.
Our winners:
1st Place: Carrie M
2nd Place: Shioban Hamby
3rd Place: Tim & Whitney Turner
Plus, we’d like to shout a HUGE thank you to Rutherfordton Fire & Rescue for adding extra water into the creek to make this a competitive race, and Rutherfordton Police Department for helping retrieve some ducks that got stuck along the way.

Tell Your Story of Rutherfordton
|
|
|
One of the most amazing things about this town is our community, each and everyone of you. We pride ourselves on "Small Town Friendly," because we help build each other up, make everyone feel welcome, and create an environment where everyone thrives. Your story is apart of ours, and we want to hear it.
Rutherford Town Rising is looking for the stories that shine light on how amazing our community is. Maybe, it's how you moved here and were supported by the random stranger on Main Street. Or maybe it's a memory of a local business that you consistently visited it when you were little. No matter what it is, we want to hear it (or see it if you have pictures)!

Rutherfordton Employee Spotlight: Clint Ingle
Each one of our team members brings a unique approach to their work with amazing personalities and hearts for service. Each month we aim to share with you a little about one of the team members that work so hard to make Rutherfordton a great place to call home. This month the Town is shining the spotlight on Clint Ingle! We hope you enjoy getting to know about Clint and celebrating his service to the Town.
Department: Rutherfordton Police Department
Title: Police Chief
Years of Service: 18 Years
Spouse: Stephanie Ingle
Children: Jonah (10)
What is your proudest moment working for the Town?
The proudest moment in my career was being selected to serve the Rutherfordton Police Department and this great community as your Chief of Police. To be honored with this career opportunity was one of my proudest moments. My career started in the Town of Rutherfordton in 2005, and my goal was to one day be a leader that this community could trust, and the employees of this department could stand behind to lead them.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
A true police officer fights to protect his community not because he hates what’s in front of him, but because he loves the community who stands behind him!
What did you want to be when you were little?
While growing up, I wanted nothing more than to be a professional baseball player. I spent most of my days on the diamond which led to life throwing me one of the nastiest curve balls I had ever seen (no pun intended). A career ending injury in college changed my dreams, but today I know if it wasn’t for being on that field and learning to play as a TEAM, I wouldn’t be the leader I am today! For this I’m grateful!
Anything else you'd like to share?
I would like to share that still today I am honored and humbled to be serving as your Chief of Police. I am still committed to serving the residents of our community to the best of my ability. I still accept the responsibility of ensuring that our community is provided with the best law enforcement services possible. Fortunately for me, I still work with a dedicated staff of sworn officers and one civilian employee that truly understands the definition of service. They work hard every day to provide the best service possible to our community. I serve in this position with great pride because of the work they do. They are constantly continuing to improve, and we will continue to get better! If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be the leader I am today! Each and everyone of these men and women are the true SUPERHEROES that don’t wear capes!

Thank you, Clint, for all you do for the town!
