Crafting a Durable Slab Bench: A Comprehensive Guide

Prepare the Site

Fill the trench with a 2" layer of gravel, using a rake to create a smooth, level base. Wet the gravel lightly to help it settle. Use a brick trowel to apply concrete adhesive along the underside of the slab, where it will meet the backrest. Lay the second slab against the adhesive, creating a right angle and forming the backrest of your bench. Allow the adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Once the adhesive has cured, use a trowel to apply a thin layer of concrete adhesive to the top of the seat and backrest slabs. This will help prevent water from seeping into the bench and causing damage. Allow the adhesive to dry completely.
