Linux CUPS Driver

Preparation
Make sure the printer is not connected to the machine.
Option 1: Debian/Ubuntu Package (.deb)
1. Download the Package
⬇ Debian / Ubuntu Package .deb Archive2. Install the Driver
Navigate to your downloads folder and install the package using APT.
sudo apt install ./Magicard-cups-driver-1.5.0-Linux.deb
Option 2: Build from Source (.tar.gz)
1. Download the Source Archive
⬇ Build from Source .tar.gz Archive2. Install Dependencies
Ensure Required Components are Installed.
sudo apt install build-essential cmake
sudo apt install libcups2-dev
3. Extract the Tarball
Unpack the downloaded driver archive.
tar -xf magicard_ltd-linux_driver-1.5.0.tar.gz
4. Navigate to the Directory
Move to the extracted directory.
cd magicard_ltd-linux_driver
5. Build Code
Generate the makefiles required and build the code.
sudo cmake .
sudo make
6. Install the Driver
Install the compiled driver to your system.
sudo make install
Final Steps (Required)
1. Open CUPS
Open a web browser and navigate to the local CUPS Printers page:
2. Install the Printer
- ⏻ Plug the printer into the machine using USB
- ⟳ Refresh the browser page, the printer should appear, this may take a little while.
