The USA Spartanburg plant assembles the BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XM Sports Activity Vehicles and Coupes and their variants. On June 23, 1992, BMW Group announced it would develop its first full manufacturing facility outside of Germany in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
