Opinion on BMW X4 Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a BMW X4 M40i and wanted to get some insights on its reliability. If you own one or have experience with it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on its performance and any potential maintenance issues. Also, I came across a deal for a 2021 BMW X4 M40i AWD with 42K miles priced at $41.5k.

Long-time X4 owners: what's your ownership experience been vis-à-vis reliability? I'll be in the market for a new vehicle in about a year/year and a half, and I really love a hatchback. I love the look but also need a trunk large enough to fit hockey goalie gear easily. I'm in a civic hatch now and love it, but looking for a power upgrade.

One thing to consider - garage size; if you store your car in one, the X3 M is 1.3 inches shorter in length but if height is the issue, the X4M Competition is 1.9 to 2.0 inches shorter in height than the X3. The X4M sacrifices headroom and load space for a sportier-looking coupe-like bodyshell. However, be aware that the suspension setup is seen as too stiff for daily driving by some owners.

I'm currently driving a 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio and the lease will be coming up early in 2025. I'm already looking at what I might get and this time I want to buy a car outright instead of leasing. I'm considering the X4 M40i as I want something with a 6 cylinder engine.

Sleek and low-ish on the road, and objectively the most upmarket car of what you proposed. X4 is juste an X3 with a low roof. But if money is not a problem and you want comfort and luxury, why not go for a 7?
