Welcome to the unofficial subreddit for toyota aygo fans and owners! Here you can discuss, ask questions, share tips and tricks, or just show of your car. Problem is we would need to drive to hers - 6 hours on the M1 each way - once a month or so and wondered how practical it is driving an Aygo? It seems quite noisy and light for motorway driving. I wondered if anyone with that type of Aygo drives on a motorway long distances regularly? Would you recommend or steer well clear.

The Aygo is terrific. It's a bit slow to start off with, if the engine isn't warmed up (seems to accelerate at 1mph/per second from 65mph upwards), but once it's been motorway bound for a minute or two, it really kicks in. There's almost no perceptible difference in engine noise upwards of 65mph, and it's not that noisy then.

I had a Toyota Aygo (1.0L) as a courtesy car a couple of years ago when my own car was being repaired after an accident. I never took it on a motorway but did use some fairly big A roads (A12 and A13) which are actually like motorways! I have a 2007 Toyota Aygo. I'm actually quite fond of it, although on long motorway journeys it can be a struggle. There's no sound proofing, and the interior is pretty Spartan.

Is a Toyota Aygo suitable for motorway driving? I am going to test drive a Toyota Aygo, automatic, 2014 registration; 15,000 miles.I currently have a 2006 Vauxhall Corsa automatic which I will look to part exchange. I do a short motorway run every week (about 30 miles each way). Otherwise it will be for short dual carriageway and city run around.

The Aygo does require some forward planning before big hills on motorways if you're heavily laden. But honestly, cars with bigger engines can lose speed anyway on such inclines anyway, so it doesn't much concern me. Are Toyota Aygo 1.0L good for frequent trips on the motorway? Depends what you mean by good.

It'll get up to motorway speed but it won't be especially comfortable or safe feeling whilst you're there. I've been a passenger in a Peugeot 107, (almost identical), for a long trip. It was noisy and rattled away the whole time.

At low speed the X is nippy enough, but get it onto a motorway and the 1.0-litre does sound strained. Even through the extra insulation that the old hatch didn't have.
