Compare Getrag vs ZF gearboxes for track or street builds. I have now learnt that from some of you on the forum the 328i had a 3.64 ratio and I presumed that the 325i is the same. I really want an LSD for my '96 328iS, but I want to keep the same gear ratio so I'm not burning through gas on the interstate. I have no idea what the stock ratio is though. E36 328i Auto diff ratio? I've seen lots of different results online for what diff ratio is in the 1998 328i Auto and was wondering if anyone had a solid answer.

Converting my e36 328i shortly (aiming for this weekend). Jatco auto, likely has a 3.91 diff (as this was the factory diff for a 328i auto, but the tag is missing on mine), replacing with ZF 5 speed. Hi been told it's a good idea to change the diff in my 328i Which is 2.93.? For something like one out of a 325i or even a 316, 318 or 320i Gives much better acellration.
